An educational institution refers to an administrative unit, not an individual school building or establishment. All educational institutions have only one address (location).

If grades 7 to 9 contain fewer than 20 educational institutions, the educational institution is placed in category 1 (and not in category 3). Pupils receiving special support are not included in this classification, so the comprehensive schools fall into grades differently than in the variable “Grade data for comprehensive schools”.
