Turnover of large building construction enterprises from renovation increased 3 per cent in 2010

The turnover from renovation building of building construction enterprises with at least 10 employees totalled EUR 4.4 billion in 2010. Renovation building has stayed almost on level with 2009. The increase from the year before amounted to 3 per cent.. These data are based on Statistics Finland statistics on building construction enterprises' renovation building.

The data on 2009 are not comparable with data concerning earlier years.

The total turnover of all construction enterprises with at least 10 employees was EUR 13.3 billion in 2010. Newbuilding construction generated 68 per cent and renovation building 32 per cent of the turnover of construction enterprises. Enterprises in the industry of building construction generated 48 per cent and enterprises in specialised construction, or building installation and completion, 52 per cent of the turnover from renovations.

Approximately 57 per cent of the turnover from renovations came from renovations of non-residential buildings. Turnover from renovations of residential buildings accounted for 42 per cent of the total.

The statistics on construction enterprises' renovation building are based on a sample of building construction enterprises with at least 10 employees. The inquiry comprises approximately 450 enterprises. The population of the inquiry was enlarged in 2009 so the data are not comparable with those concerning earlier years.
