Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased in March

The goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,5 million tonnes in March 2021. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 23 per cent compared to March 2020. In March 2021 domestic water transport took place only in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most, in total 0.4 million tonnes, which was 77 per cent of all transport. The second most transported were crude minerals and cement, 36,412 tonnes.

No transport was registered through the Saimaa Canal in domestic traffic in March.
