Survey on use of information and communications technology by individuals moved to a mixed-mode data collection and the data weighting method was renewed

The survey on use of information and communications technology by individuals moved from telephone interviews to a mixed-mode data collection in 2016, where respondents can select between filling out a web questionnaire and a telephone interview. As a result, renewals also concerned the calculation method with which the research data pertaining to persons are weighted to correspond to the population of the whole country and taking into account non-response. The new calculation method also takes into account the respondent's level of education and native language.

In order for the results from the 2016 and 2015 surveys to be comparable in terms of the calculation method of the weights, a revision was made in the 2015 data by calculating the weights using the new method. The appendix tables of the 2015 release are republished calculated from the revised data. The figures of the appendix tables change from those released in 2015 but the changes are primarily quite minor.
