Producer price indices in October 2005

According to Statistics Finland, producer price indices rose by 1.9 to 5.6 per cent in the year to October. The biggest increase was recorded in import prices, which was particularly attributable to higher prices of crude oil, oil products, copper and basic chemicals. The rise of import prices was curbed by lower prices of electrical products.

From September to October import price index increased by 0.1 per cent. The rise was mainly due to higher prices of basic chemicals, oil products and copper.
