The increase in the producer prices for manufactured goods was particularly attributable to risen prices of base metals and electricity from December 2005. The rise was curbed by lower prices of electrical products.
From November to December 2006, producer prices for manufactured goods fell by 0.4 per cent, mainly because of lower prices of electrical products. The fall in the prices was held back by increases in the prices of paper, board and wood products.
