Producer price indices in December 2007
Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 1.6 per cent, export prices by 1.1 per cent and import prices by 2.6 per cent from December 2006 to December 2007. The basic price index for domestic supply went up by 3.5 per cent in the year. The year-on-year change in the wholesale price index was 2.7 per cent.
The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by increased prices of oil products from December 2006. The rising of the prices was held back by fallen prices of electric energy.
From November to December 2007, producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.5 per cent. The fall in prices was attributable to the fallen price of nickel, among other things. The fall in prices was held back especially by rises in the prices of paper and electric energy.
