Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 1.3 per cent in November

According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 1.3 per cent from November 2011 to November 2012. Producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market rose by 2.2 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went up by 0.3 per cent.

Producer Price Index (PPI) 2010=100, 2010:01–2012:11

The Export Price Index rose by 0.5 per cent and the Import Price Index by 1.4 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went up by 2.5 per cent and the year-on-year change in the Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply, Including Taxes was 2.8 per cent.

The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by risen prices of oil products, food and chemicals from November of the previous year. The rising of the prices was curbed particularly by falls in the prices of pulp and electronic appliances.

From October to November, producer prices for manufactured goods fell by 0.3 per cent. The fall was mainly due to decreased prices of oil products from the previous month.
