Employment grew and unemployment fell in February 2006
According to the Labour Force Survey of Statistics Finland, the number of employed persons was 2,395,000 in February, i.e. 47,000 higher than one year before. The employment rate stood at 67.5 per cent, while it was 66.7 per cent in February 2005.
The number of unemployed persons was 219,000 in February, which is 18,000 fewer than one year before. The rate of unemployment was 8.4 per cent, while it was 9.2 per cent one year earlier.
