Economic accounts for agriculture (EAA): Changes to the release of the statistics

Information about the change

The data content of the statistics on economic accounts for agriculture (EAA) will be extended with the regional economic accounts for agriculture (REAA) to be published on 9 October. The production of regional data is based on Regulation No 2022/590 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Statistics Finland has submitted the data required by the Regulation to Eurostat since 2023.

The data are updated annually in October together with the final data of the economic accounts for agriculture concerning the statistical reference year t-1. The REAA data concern the statistical reference year t-2. The data are published by the NUTS 2 regional division, which includes Western Finland (FI19), Helsinki-Uusimaa (FI1B), Southern Finland (FI1C), Northern and Eastern Finland (FI1D), and Åland (FI20). The first update includes data for the years 2021 to 2023 as well.

In addition, a review on the regional economic accounts for agriculture will in future be published every three years concerning the development of agricultural output, intermediate consumption and value added, as well as regional differences. The first review will cover the period 2021 to 2024 and it will also be published on 9 October.
