Cost index of civil engineering works: Database tables and publications corrected

Description of the correction

Statistics Finland has detected an error in the Cost index of civil engineering works. The error applies to indices in the period from April 2026 to August 2026.

The error was in the price of diesel fuel. The correction especially affects the cost factors Own machinery and Fuel and energy. The correction has an impact on maintenance indexes in particular. As a result of the correction, the index point figures fall.

Change in base year 2020=100 index point figures varies between -0.3 and -0.1 index points compared to previously published data. The correction applies to the following index series over the period from April 2026 to August 2026:

• 13 Rock structures
• 17 Technical and other systems
• 20 Road maintenance
• 21 Street maintenance
• 20–22 Maintenance total
• 28 Improvement of the rail line
• H-Index
• K-Index
• S-Index
• 2 Own machinery
• 24 Fuel and energy
