People at risk of poverty or social exclusion numbered 958,000 in 2024

According to Statistics Finland, 958,000 persons or 17.3 per cent of the household population were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2024. The growth in the number of persons at risk grew from the previous year. The share of persons aged 18 to 49 who were at risk of poverty or social exclusion increased in particular. Share of persons living in households with difficulties in making ends meet remained unchanged.

Correction

The publication of database table 13wn — Persons in severe material and social deprivation and living in low work intensity households was delayed. The table was published on 6 March 2026 at 08:46.
