Municipality-based statistical units

Municipality-based statistical units are municipalities, sub-regional units, regions, major regions, wellbeing services counties, economic development centres and electoral districts.

Municipality-based statistical units correspond to the regional divisions used in the statistics of the statistical reference year concerned.

The dataset can be used directly in Paikkatietoikkuna or by means of interface addresses in geographic information software.

Examination of dataset in Paikkatietoikkuna

You can study a dataset on the map of Paikkatietoikkuna without any separate geographic information software.

Move the map where you want by dragging the map. Zoom in or out the map to the desired scale level either by rotating the middle mouse button or by clicking the plus and minus signs in the map view.

You can change the regional division shown on the map from the Map levels menu. By default, only municipalities are shown.

Use of dataset in the geographic information software

You can use the dataset in the geographic information software by means of interface addresses. Please note that the addresses intended for the geographic information software do not function as such in the web browser but you need a separate geographic information software to use them.
