Description of the correction
Pupils in preparatory education for comprehensive education had erroneously been included in the population in 2022. The population was corrected to include only pupils in pre-primary and comprehensive education. This correction affected several database tables and the release for 2022.
In the data on support for learning released in August 2023, the number of pupils in intensified support was given as 79,177, the correct figure being 79,019. Similarly, the number of pupils in special support was given as 55,544, the correct figure is 55,542. The number of pupils reported was 571,460, the corrected figure is 563,135. In addition, corrections have been made to the data on the place of implementation of teaching in Åland concerning tables 137r and 13p8.
Data on the place of implementation of teaching in Åland in 2022 were corrected. The previously published figures for Åland were: all education in special education groups or classes, 54 in total, 1 to 19 per cent of education in general education groups, 46 in total, 20 to 49 per cent of education in general education groups, 34 in total, 50 to 79 per cent of education in general education groups, 380 in total, and 80 to 100 per cent of education in general education groups, 233 in total. The number of pupils having received special support has been correct, but data on education groups have been erroneous and too high.

Text in the introduction: According to Statistics Finland's data, an increasing number of comprehensive school pupils received support for learning in 2022. Intensified support was received by 79,200, or 13.9 per cent of comprehensive school pupils and special support by 55,500, or 9.7 per cent of comprehensive school pupils. The share of pupils having received intensified and special support grew by 0.7 percentage points from the year before.
Corrected to: According to Statistics Finland's data, an increasing number of comprehensive school pupils received support for learning in 2022. Intensified support was received by 79,000, or 14.0 per cent of comprehensive school pupils and special support by 55,500, or 9.9 per cent of comprehensive school pupils. The share of pupils having received intensified and special support grew by 1.0 percentage points from the year before.
