Building cost index: The base year of the statistics is updated from 2021 to 2025

A new reference period will be adopted in the building cost index in connection with the publication of data for 2026 in February 2026. The new base year is 2025.
The building cost index is an index based on EU regulations, the base year of which is typically changed every five years, in years ending in five or zero.
When the new base year is adopted, the weight structure of the index will be updated to correspond with the cost structures of newbuilding. The index series of the previous base years will be continue to be published.
