Data Room Service

Subject to charge

The Data Room Service is a service covering the Research Services for large long-term research projects. The project will have access to regular data deliveries, rapid response to changing data needs and a designated responsible processing officer from the Research Services.

How does the data room service work?

The establishment of a data room is preceded by a negotiation between the Research Services and the organisation procuring the service. Several organisations may also procure the service jointly. The scope and price of the service are agreed in the negotiation. The aim of the negotiations and agreement is to ensure a level of input from the Research Services that supports the smooth progress of the project and enables a rapid response to changing data needs.

A responsible processing officer from the Research Services is assigned to the project. This designated officer, who is familiar with the project’s needs, delivers the data according to the agreed schedule and assists in acquiring data as the project’s information needs become more specified.

For each project, a separate, secure operating environment is established in the remote access system FIONA. Data and data updates are delivered to FIONA in accordance with the agreed schedule.
