Prices of data and services

Prices are valid as of 1 January 2026. Statistics Finland will review the pricing during 2026 and reserves the right to make changes.

Ready-made datasets

The price of a ready-made dataset is charged when the dataset is made available to a project. If the user license also covers years of ready-made datasets that have not yet been published, future annual updates will be invoiced separately.

Updates to ready-made datasets covering the full population are automatically delivered to the remote access project in accordance with the user license, and an annual update fee is invoiced each year in February.

For ready-made datasets restricted to a specific target population, the project must request an update extraction through a separate application via the licensing service. These updates are invoiced according to the annual update price.

*The price includes two hours of work. If limiting the ready-made dataset takes more than two hours, the excess time is charged at an hourly rate.

Tailored datasets

The compiling and processing of research datasets are priced based on the requirements and extent of work on an hourly basis. If data are extracted from a ready-made dataset, the price is at least the same as the price of the ready-made dataset. Cause of death data

The table contains examples of typical extraction cases concerning cause of death data. The price of the extraction is calculated based on the price of hourly work valid at each time.

Service prices

We charge for the service on hourly prices. The price per working hour is €115 + VAT.

We charge one working hour for the following services:

Concluding a research services agreement in connection with an assignment (excluding datasets released to the researcher’s own organisation, where concluding the agreement is included in the extraction price listed in the price list)
Splitting a one-off invoice between several organisations
Renewing a research services agreement due to reasons attributable to the customer (e.g. a change of the invoice payer)
