Updating schedule of ready-made datasets

The EDUC datasets contain comprehensive register-based information on the educational pathways of the population, from early childhood and basic education to application data for upper secondary and higher education, student registers, and qualification data. The coverage of the register data varies by year.

FIRM datasets are ready-made datasets on enterprises and employees. The modules cover a wide range of topics, from employee flows and enterprise characteristics to imports of goods. The datasets include, among other things, enterprise demographics, personnel characteristics, financial statement data, innovation and R&D activity, foreign trade, as well as business subsidies, self-assessed tax data and employer contributions.

Depending on the data content of each FIRM module, the datasets are generally updated once a year, while some modules are updated several times a year.

FLOWN (Finnish Longitudinal Owner-Employer-Employee Data) -valmisaineisto mahdollistaa yrityksiä ja niiden omistajia koskevien tietojen yhdistämisen ja käytön tutkimuksessa. Aineisto perustuu Verohallinnon Tilastokeskukselle tilastotarkoituksiin toimittamiin tietoihin. Valmisaineisto koostuu neljästä osamoduulista, jotka sisältävät tietoja osakkaista ja yhtiömiehistä, osingoista maksajan ja saajan mukaan sekä pörssilistatuista yrityksistä.

FOLK modules provide comprehensive information on the population, including family and household data, employment and income information, education data, unemployment and employment relationships, as well as linkage data such as child–parent relationships.

The INFRA location data module contains location information on buildings in Statistics Finland’s population data repository, linked with residents, i.e. the population permanently residing in Finland on the last day of each year.

The residence permit data of Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) are now licensed by Statistics Finland, and new ready-made datasets have now been created from these data. As the data are new to Statistics Finland, our familiarity with them is still developing. Changes may still be made to the data sets and we welcome feedback from users.

The PRH module contain information from the Finnish Trade Register maintained by Finnish Patent and Registration Office. It contains information on, for example, the persons in charge, and members of the board.

SES structure of earnings datasets are available in both unharmonized and harmonized forms. The modules are based on salary information compiled by Statistics Finland.

TAX The Income Register is a national electronic database maintained by the Finnish Tax Administration. It contains real-time, payment-specific salary, pension, and benefit information for individuals.

Pension and benefit information has been reported to the Income Register since the beginning of 2021, forming the TAX_BENEFIT dataset. Salary information has been reported since the beginning of 2019 and is compiled into the TAX_INCOMES dataset at Statistics Finland.

The data is updated monthly and may also be updated retroactively.

The KEHA job vacancy statistics modules are based on data from the KEHA Centre, and four modules are available: work ability, job seeker, job search, and vacancy modules.

In addition, a dataset based on the URA information system used in the public employment services is available. The URA system includes the following sub-datasets: job offers for open vacancies, job offers for subsidised employment, plans, contact methods, service lines, Sanssi cards, language skills of immigrants, and language skills of all individuals.

KEHA ready-made datasets are updated once a year.

TRAFI ready-made data sets are based on the vehicle traffic register of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom), which contains information on all road traffic vehicles subject to registration in Mainland Finland from 2013 onwards.

The Customs ready-made dataset modules include the datasets "Customs Foreign Trade by Commodity" and "Customs Foreign Trade by Company" from the year 1999.
