Ready-made datasets are used in the remote access system
Ready-made datasets can be used only in the FIONA remote access system. The datasets are not released to the researcher's own environment.
Ready-made research datasets contain versatile and comprehensive data for studying Finnish business activities and the characteristics and development of the population.
Ready-made research datasets contain a certain set of variables connected to the theme of the data module.
The available data modules include:
Research project-specific extractions are primarily made from ready-made datasets containing personal data. The licence applicant specifies the target population and the years for which the extraction is made on the application form. A user licence can be granted in advance already for subsequent extraction years, allowing the researcher to request repetition of the extraction limited by target population, i.e. an updated extraction with the same user licence when new statistical years become available. Updated extractions are subject to a fee.
For valid reasons, the project may have a ready-made dataset as total data at its disposal.
Data from other authorising bodies, such as Finnish Customs, Traficom and the Matriculation Examination Board, are also available as ready-made datasets.
The datasets can be combined uniformly with secured unit identifiers and they are updated regularly. In addition, tailored datasets from Statistics Finland's data warehouse can be combined with ready-made datasets according to researcher needs.
Ready-made datasets can be used only in the FIONA remote access system. The datasets are not released to the researcher's own environment.
A user licence must be applied for to use ready-made datasets. User licences, datasets and remote access use are subject to a charge.
Read the instructions and price list carefully before applying for a user licence.
Research data
Research datasets formed from the datasets of individual interviews are available for research use. The datasets describe the population and living conditions.
